Saturday Road game in Long Valley 3pm & 6:45 pm home game at Brooks Crossing
Good evening Parents,
Tuesday and Thursday nights. 8 to 9:30 Crossroads South.
Saturday 4:30 pm Crossroads North
Sunday 10:30 am Monroe Sports Center
Our game on January 16 has been postponed. We will all report for pictures that evening.
I need all the girls at practice this week. I have to get a message across about intensity and our ability to shoot the ball which is best delivered to a full team. We have not been at 100% since the beginning of the season. I have been taking these games as a tryout within a tryout. I expect all the girls to be ready to play when their name is called, if it’s for 20 minutes for 2 minutes. There are games where certain girls may not get significant playing time and that is determined by their understanding of the offense, the defense and their willingness to give their best when they are on the floor. Effort does translate into more playing time. If their is a question about playing time, please have your daughter see me about what they can do to get more time.
Also, please email me if any of your daughters wish to volunteer for Junior Hoops on Wednesday night. SBPAL needs our young leaders to help assist the next generation of players. If you are interested, please let me know. It will be at 6:30 pm @ Crossroads South.
I hope you are ready for a great 2015.
I hope everyone is enjoying their vacation/break from school and or work. There are no practices, however we do have a game on Saturday. Please check our calendar for all of our games. It has been updated to reflect every game from both the Garden State Basketball League and the Monroe League.
If you would like the link to the two different leagues, they are listed below:
As the New Year approaches and we get into the heart of our basketball schedule, I NEED to find out how committed we all are to improving. It’s not about wins or losses, they are nice, but about true improvement. It begins with your daughters studying the cards on the motion offense given out at the beginning of December and about attending practice. This team will continue to look less than stellar if we don’t find a way to practice together.
Please let me know any suggestions on how you think we can get all the girls into the gym at the same time at least once a week.
Happy New Year to all and I look forward to seeing all who can attend on Saturday night.
I need 3 parent volunteers for Saturday morning from 7 to 10 am. The volunteers need to arrive promptly at 7am to set up crossroads north for the day. Please respond directly to me about your ability to volunteer and the time you wish to select. If you want split time with other parents that would be fine if we have 6 parents for 90 minutes. Just be aware our game begins at 10 am and our second game is at 12 noon.
Good morning team,
It’s Friday morning and I just wanted to paint the picture for the last few days before Christmas.
Today, for those who are interested, we will be traveling tonight to Woodbridge to cheer on the Varsity High School team. The address is 1 Samuel Lupo Pl, Woodbridge, NJ 07095 and tipoff is at 7pm. I plan on leaving my house at 6pm because of the traffic on route 1 going to Woodbridge. If you will be attending, please wear your travel black tops.
Tomorrow, Saturday, we have a game at 5:45 at Crossroads North. Please arrive at 5:15, since I haven’t seen everybody this week and there are things to discuss for the players who did not attend practice. Our opponent is Washington and they are VERY good.
Sunday – get your church/shopping/relax day. Enjoy the rest
Monday – Last full day of school. Also, the middle school team has their first home game. If you are not on the team, try to make the game. It is at 4pm….It would be helpful for you to see what your teammates are going thru and maybe you can notice things that we can do better.
Tuesday – Last road game of December. Tipoff is at 7:45 @ 507 Millbrook Avenue, Randolph, NJ. Another tough team but after this game you are free from Basketball until Friday.
If anyone has questions about the upcoming days, please let me know. I know it’s hectic with the holidays to begin with and we are all under tremendous pressure from friends and family. Basketball is safe time. We come together as a family and enjoy the competition and try to have fun.
Finally more information about volunteering for the Sid Lee tournament will be coming once we publish the game schedules either Sunday night or Monday morning. So unfortunately this isn’t the last email about basketball you will be getting.
