Week of February 16 UPDATED

Good Afternoon Parents and Players,

Just to cut to the chase quickly, our game tonight is ON!!!!

The rest of the week is as follows:

2/17 – 8:20pm @ MSC Red against East Brunswick
2/18 – 6:30 to 8pm volunteers needed for Junior Hoops
2/19 – 8;00pm @ Indian Fields against Basking Ridge
2/20 – both games cancelled
2/21 – 3:15 pm @ Constable Elementary school against Bayonne. (Yes it’s in town. No we don’t have to drive to Bayonne)
2/21 – 5:30pm @ Brooks Crossing Elementary school against MSC Purple

I am trying to schedule the two GSBL games. However there is a possibility because of the days left in our season these two games might just be forfeits.

One last item, I know everyone has plans for the spring. However, we still have money in our budget and I was wondering if any of the players would be interested in just playing tournaments. Not another season. Just one 1 day tournament and 1 two day tournament in the spring. Yes we would get gym time. But the practices will be voluntary. It would mostly be shootarounds and working on dribbling and shooting drills instead of working on offensive and defensive sets.

I don’t need 11 players. If I have 7 or 8 players, I would move forward with the tournament dates. The first date is April 4, 2015. It’s a Saturday at Monroe Sports Center. The second is May 2 & 3rd at Monroe Sports Center.

Please let me know if anyone is interested and I will inform the team of the decision based upon interest in these two dates.

Thank you and see you tonight.

Parents and Players,

Welcome to crazy week 1. First off, I want to apologize for the late notice of the cancellation of yesterday’s game. I swear I called and emailed the coach at 7AM trying to get clarification about our game and he called just as we were getting ready to leave.

Onto the rest of our crazy week.

NO practice this week. Because of the shortened week and the need to make up so many games, we have no practice this week.

2/17 East Brunswick @ 8:20 pm Monroe Sports Center Red
2/19 Basking Ridge White @ 8pm Crossroads South
2/20 Morristown @ 6:45pm Indian Fields
2/20 Flemington @ 8pm Indian Fields
2/21 MSC Hawks Purple @ 5:30pm Brooks Crossing Elementary

As you can see we will be very busy this week, including a double hitter on Friday night.

The good news is that we are not driving further than Monroe Sports center and everything else is in town.

I hope everyone stays warm, has a good week of sleep and work and school. I look forward to seeing everyone this week and some wins.

I am trying to reschedule our game against Bayonne which is scheduled for 2/28 – we don’t have the gyms to use that day. We might have to travel.
I am also trying to reschedule our Phillipsburg game, but that will be challenging with the amount of time left in the season and our already loaded schedule.

Hello Players and Parents,

So this is the last quiet week we will have until March. It get very busy starting next week.

Thursday 8 to 9:30 at Crossroads South
MANDATORY – we are practicing and implementing defensive schemes towards beating East Brunswick and Purple.
Make sure you have your safety goggles and best pair of sneakers.

Sunday – 2/15 11:30 AM Phillipsburg High School. Get to the school by 11 AM.

The coaches just want to thank you all for your support thru the season so far. We are about to hit a stretch where we play 10 games in 14 days beginning on Sunday. Some of those games we will be undermanned due to previous commitments. But we will persevere and everyone will get a chance to show us what they are made of.

The team website will be updated today with all the make up games we have and will reflect all the games remaining.

If we qualify for playoff games will be played the first two weeks of March.

Parents and Players,

First I would like to extend a congratulations to the entire team for the effort since the second half of Saturday’s game thru this game. We needed this win badly and you found the strength to persevere and respond when the situation demanded it. That takes 11 girls with focus and for that I am very grateful.

I want to also say thank you Megan’s Mom and Dad for their generous breakfast, Alex is still working off the sugar high.

This is a very busy week for members of this team. Six members of our team will be playing seven games this week. That means we need the other girls to step up during our three games this upcoming weekend. There will be players very tired, so we just need to be vocal and communicate when they are tired so we can keep the fresh legs running.

I fully expect a 3-0 weekend, no excuses.

Practice: Thursday Night 8 to 9:30 pm @ Crossroads South (I can not move this due to gym and player availability)

Friday – 8 PM @ Green Brook 105 Andrew Street, Green Brook, NJ 08812 (Coach Eddie and Coach Sid will be in charge)
Saturday – 10 AM @ Manalapan Sharks – Monroe Sports Center Yellow Court
Saturday – 5:45 PM vs Basking Ridge White – Crossroads Middle School North

Please let me know if you won’t be attending any games this weekend. I know there are a couple of conflicts so we just need to prepare for those as much as possible.

Dear Parents and Players,

We are the half way thru the season and the upcoming weekend is very big for our team.

Thursday January 29 @ 8 pm Crossroads South

Saturday 12pm at Washington, 2093 NJ-57, Hackettstown, NJ (make up game from picture night) Black Uniform
Saturday 4:30pm vs Flemington Crossroads North White Uniform
Sunday 8am at Monroe Sports Center against Purple Black Uniform

These are three good opponents and we are going to give 100 percent. Make sure the girls are well rested. Based on how the girls have practiced and performed most recently I expect our team to play their best basketball of the season this weekend.

Thank you for your patience, support and assistance.
