League Updates

Posted by 8th Grade Girls Gold at Oct 29, 2015 8:15AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

It’s official, we have registered with Monroe Sports Center for 12 games and with the North Brunswick Basketball League. We have requested to play all of our NBBL games on Saturday afternoons. We also requested to play either after 7pm for MSC or Saturday mornings. We are going try to leave our Sundays free for the winter. Obviously, we might have conflict somewhere and we will use Sunday as our fall back day.

Greetings Parents and Players,

So I hope everyone was able to get home safe after the last minute cancellation yesterday. I also hope everyone got to enjoy some of that 44 degree weather today.

Now that everyone is rested and winter sports have come to an end, it’s time to get crazy. The schedule right now is very fluid. We have lots of games to make up and in between shoveling snow and going shopping I spent my day wheeling and dealing, trying to get our games made up.

What I have scheduled so far is as follows.

Tuesday 2/24 – 7:45 @ Flemington
Friday 2/27 – 6:30 @ Randolph
Saturday 2/28 – 11:30 AM @ Phillipsburg

I was able to get gym time in Basking Ridge Sunday evening 3/1/2015.

5:30pm and 6:45pm is available and I offered to host two of the following teams (Bayonne, Morristown and Flemington)

I have also offered to travel, Wednesday night, Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning to early afternoon to try to fit these three games in. I would hate to forfeit these games since we all have invested time and money this season.

I am waiting to here back from Monroe in regards of scheduling our game against the MSC Hawks Purple. What MIGHT happen is either we play on 3/5 during our practice time or we play a double header on Saturday 3/7 against purple and East Brunswick; which I am NOT interested in doing but it’s out of my hands at this point.

There will be NO practice this week. So the girls should find a way to stay active on the off days. Even if it’s just laying on their backs and practicing their shooting form.

Have a good night and expect to get more messages as I confirm games and times with opposing coaches.

Thank you,

I am so very upset about the cancellations of today’s games. I was called by coach Sid as I was heading to our first game. I rushed to call our opponents for today first and then proceeded to call the leagues we are in to inform them of the situation.

Here is the most up to date information regarding the rest of our season. We currently will be forfeiting 3 games in the GSBL.

vs. Bayonne
vs. Morristown
vs. Flemington

We have two GSBL games left that are scheduled for Tuesday and Friday.

We MUST reschedule our game from today against MSC purple. The only days we have available are Monday and Wednesday. I will try my best to make it happen. If we fail to reschedule we will forfeit against Purple and unfortunately miss the playoffs.

I will be in touch with you all within the next 48 hours to provide an update.

Thank you,

Coach Manny

PS find time to go see McFarland, it is a great story and maybe your children will find inspiration in an underdog story.
